Proud Houstonian, Mathias Lattin won the 2023 International Blues Challenge and Best Guitarist at the tender of 20-years old; conceivably making him the youngest to win both.

He garnered national attention when he joined the Keeshea Pratt Band (IBC 2018) in 2020. After touring with the Keeshea Pratt Band and joining Brazilian Bluesman Cris Crochemore for the 2022 IBC, Mathias decided to take a shot at the IBC as front man.

Mathias is a PRS Signature artist, using the Vitus line of pickups to help create his one of a kind tone.

I recently had the chance to try out the Mc90s from Vitus Pickups while on tour, and I knew after the first gig with them that I had stumbled upon something truly special. The clarity, warmth, and punch of these pickups elevated my tone to a new level, and it was instantly inspiring. They have since quickly become a key part of my rig, and I’m incredibly inspired by how dynamic and versatile they are. On top of that, the team at Vitus has been nothing but passionate and supportive of my musical journey thus far. I spend most of my time on the road with Austin Giorgio or picking up sessions and gigs around Nashville, and I know the team at Vitus is going to play a big role in helping me push my sound exactly where it needs to go.

I’ve been using another brand of pickups for over a decade and once I had a set of these I immediately changed my tune.

Mark and I have talked shop before and I’ve worked conventions with the Ellis Guitars team in the past, so I’ve had many opportunities to try a variety of Vitus pickups over the last couple of years.

Most recently I had a set developed for one of my main touring instruments and the pickup set I received has transformed my instrument from a good guitar to a great guitar. It is one of the most diverse sets of pickups I’ve ever received and for what I do I could not be more happy.

As of late I play with a variety of different bands that play in different styles (Helstar, Infidel Rising, Dream Sequence, & Fluxus Mortis) and these electronics get my every possible sound that I need. From original bands, cover tunes, and studio sessions I can rely on my singular instrument to get these jobs done. I could not be more happy with a product and the communication of the team as much as these guys.
